As of January 2018, Junior Blind is now known as Wayfinder Family Services. Established in 1953 as the Foundation for the Junior Blind, Wayfinder Family Services ensures that children, youth and adults facing challenges always have a place to turn. The organization has a rich history of responding to the changing needs in the community and reaches more people today than ever before, from those with vision loss or profound special needs to foster youth with serious medical condition and trauma, and their families. Wayfinder provides expert, individualized support and services through early intervention, education, training, recreation, residential treatment, foster care, adoption, mental health, transitional shelter care and youth transition programs. All services are provided free of charge to students.
