St. Joseph Center's mission to provide working poor families, as well as homeless men, women, and children of all ages with the inner resources and tools to become productive, stable and self-supporting members of the community. Founded in 1976 by two Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet in a small storefront on Rose Avenue in Venice, California, St. Joseph Center, has evolved into a multi-faceted social service agency that serves more than 6,500 low-income as well as homeless men, women, and children annually on Los Angeles' Westside and in the communities of South LA. The Center programs and services are multi-faceted, strategically integrated, target a broad range of client populations, and are founded upon intensive, individualized care. Areas of focus include Outreach & Engagement, Housing, Mental Health, and Education & Vocational Training.
