The Skirball Cultural Center's mission is to be a place of meeting guided by the Jewish tradition of welcoming the stranger and inspired by the American democratic ideals of freedom and equality. The Skirball welcomes people of all communities and generations to participate in cultural experiences that celebrate discovery and hope, foster human connections, and call upon us to help build a more just society. The Skirball advances its mission through: the display and interpretation of its museum collection and changing exhibitions; scholarship and publications; the presentation of 300+ annual public programs that explore literary, visual, and performing arts from around the world; pioneering school outreach programs; an interactive children's museum inspired by the Noah's Ark story; Zeidler's Café; Audrey's Museum Store; and community outreach. The Skirball welcomes over 600,000 visitors annually, including 100,000 students and teachers in pre-K- 12th grade, mainly from public schools.
