Resilience: Advocates for Ending Violence

Our mission: To respond to, reduce and prevent domestic and sexual violence. Founded in 1977 as the Center for Women in Transition, we serve survivors of domestic and sexual violence in Ottawa and Allegan Counties. For more than 40 years, we have responded to the needs of survivors; expanded our reach, evolved our services, and created new partnerships and programs designed to interrupt the intergenerational cycle of violence. This growth resulted in not only an increase in survivors seeking assistance but also a growth in the way the community is engaging in violence prevention. In 2019, Center for Women in Transition evolved to become more inclusive and reflective of our continuum of services by rebranding the organization to Resilience: Advocates for Ending Violence.
