National Yiddish Book Center

The Yiddish Book Center is a nonprofit organization working to recover, celebrate, and regenerate Yiddish and modern Jewish literature and culture by rescuing, translating, and disseminating Yiddish books and presenting innovative educational programs that broaden understanding of modern Jewish identity. Beyond having saved more than one million Yiddish books since its founding in 1980, the Yiddish Book Center advances knowledge of the content and literary and cultural progeny of the books it has saved through innovative onsite and online educational programs; an online library to make Yiddish books, audio and video freely available to all; outreach including social media, a visitors center, exhibitions, public programs, translation initiatives, the Wexler Oral History Project, and an English-language magazine.
