National Guard Youth Foundation

The National Guard Youth Foundation (NGYF) supports and advocates on behalf of the National Guard Youth Challenge Program, jointly funded by the federal and state governments, that provides a 17-month rigorous educational program, including a 22-week long residential phase, for high school dropouts. Participants receive academic training leading to credit recovery, a GED, or a high school diploma as well as extensive training in leadership and life skills. The Foundation contributes to the Program by, among many things, raising national awareness of the dropout crisis, advocating to the state and federal governments on behalf of the Program, soliciting corporate partners to enhance the quality of the Program, providing scholarships to Program graduates, and helping develop programs such as STEM training to strengthen the academic phase of the Program.
