Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Since 1985, Habitat of Greater Nashville has built or renovated more than 1,150 homes, more than 865 locally, and served more than 3,050 family members including 1,960 children, throughout Davidson, Wilson, Dickson, and Cheatham counties. Habitat homebuyers invest 200 hours of time participating in a series of homeownership classes called Homeowner Academy, volunteering at Habitat's ReStores, and helping to build their home as well as the homes of their neighbors. Equipped with new skills and strategies for success, families purchase their home through a mortgage loan provided by Habitat at 0% APR. Habitat's three ReStore locations are an important social enterprise, generating significant earned income for the agency. Habitat ReStores sell used and new home and office furnishings and building supplies to the public at discounted prices.
