Evans Scholars Foundation

Founded in 1930, the Evans Scholars Foundation (ESF) provides full tuition and housing scholarships to high-achieving caddies with limited financial means. The fellowship was established by and named for famed amatuer golfer Charles "Chick" Evans, Jr. To date, more than 11,550 men and women caddies have graduated from the program. This year more than 1,070 deserving caddies are enrolled at 21 universities across the country. To qualify for the scholarship, caddies must be nominated by their golf club and meet four requirements: have a strong caddie record, excellent academics, demonstrated financial need, and outstanding character. These tuition and housing scholarships are renewable annually for up to four years. The average total value of an Evans Scholarship is more than $120,000 over four years.
