Communities In Schools of Houston

The mission of Communities In Schools of Houston (CIS) is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to succeed in school and achieve in life. Currently serving on 165 campuses across Greater Houston, CIS of Houston has built a strong network of on-campus integrated student supports that focus on six core services: supportive guidance and counseling, academic support, health and human services, college and career readiness, parent and family engagement, and cultural enrichment. CIS' strategy for empowering students to succeed in school is to place at least one full-time Student Support Manager on each campus to deliver direct services and provide referrals to community resources that are tailored to fit students' specific needs.
