Coast Guard Mutual Assistance

As the official aid society for the United States Coast Guard since 1924, Coast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA)'s central purpose is to assist our clients with financial resilience. CGMA serves active duty, civilian employees, reservists, retirees and auxiliarists and their families. In general, assistance is provided through counseling, financial grants, short-term interest-free loans, referrals, and other related means. Aid is provided for situations including disasters and emergencies, education assistance and family/ daily support such as housing, medical, adoptions, special needs and other concerns that are beyond the individual's ability. Coast Guard Mutual Assistance strives to meet the valid, verified, and genuine need of our clients and their immediate family. CGMA is Congressionally recognized, and also serves all military service members through a Memorandum of Agreement with the other aid societies (Army, Air Force/Space Force, Navy/Marine Corps) and the American Red Cross.
