The mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Hollywood (BGCH) is to "inspire and empower young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring adults." Since 1937, BGCH's services have included providing academic enrichment, physical fitness, and youth development programs to multi- ethnic, vulnerable, and disadvantaged students in Service Planning Area 4. Our linguistically-appropriate, holistic programs help our students stay sheltered, safe, fed, and supervised, away from gangs, crime, drugs, and other risky behaviors. Our programs are adapted to meet the most urgent issues in our community (i.e., our reading program, which works to assist children of color who are more likely to be reading below grade level). BGCH is offering its after-school program for free as a direct response to the families most impacted by COVID.
