The mission of the Bay Area Discovery Museum (BADM) is to transform research into early learning experiences that inspire creative problem solving. The BADM operates a physical campus at Fort Baker in Sausalito, California. In 2011, the BADM launched the Center for Childhood Creativity as its research and advisory division. Creativity is the foundation of all other milestones in educational development. The BADM is transforming the outcomes for children and the implications for society. At its one-of-a-kind location at the foot of the Golden Gate Bridge, BADM facilitates child-directed, open-ended, inquiry-driven learning through hands-on exhibitions, designed to ignite creativity, STEM skills and critical thinking. BADM has a robust school visits program (over 8,500 school children visit annually), camps & classes and operates a licensed preschool. We welcome approx. 300,000 visitors a year and approx. 56,700 visitors receive discounted or free admission.
